Orthotic / Podiatry
Orthotists provide a wide range of orthoses, which include splinths, braces, and special footwear to aid movement, correct deformity and relive discomfort. An orthosis may be used to control, guide, limit movement, or protect a joint or body segment. Orthotist will assess client to take precise measurement for orthosis, fabricates the design and educate clients on fitting of orthosis. Adjustment of orthosis will be done by orthotist as necessary.
Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the study of diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. Podiatrists help to analyse foot biomechanics, sports medicine, prescribing insole and orthotics, manage foot problems in paediatrics, and also treat dermatology or diabetes related foot problems.
